ADVERTISE HERE
MIRI (Aug 2): The preparedness of students in facing the developments of today’s technology-centric era is vital, said Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.
In stating this, he said students must seize any available opportunity presented to them that will contribute to their self-improvement and development.
“By doing so, you can enhance your family’s income and also become the driving force of the country’s economy,” he said when officiating at the Project of Dreams Realised (Pro-DR) Education and Career carnival organised by Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) at Boulevard Shopping Mall here today.
His text speech was read by Deputy Miri Resident Juan Ubit, who represented him at the function.
Speaking on the event, Dennis said the initiative was to provide exposure and information related to education and career opportunities, especially for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) students and school leavers.
“This Pro-DR roadshow is very useful for students and youths to prepare themselves to enter higher education institutions or assist them in landing a career for the future.
“Its objective is to channel information regarding relevant and up-to-date educational and career opportunities to students and youths,” he said.
Meanwhile, the carnival featured 22 education and training institutes as well as government agencies.
Among those present were Tegas senior manager (Community Innovative Learning) Fredick Kevin Buseli, and Pemanca Leonard Fong.
