MIRI (Aug 20): The sailing events at Marina Bay here resumed around 11am today after being postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions this morning.
Principal race officer Abdul Halim Hassan signalled the improved weather by taking down the AP flag around 10.45am. Racing commenced immediately afterward.
The first group, competing in RS One, Techno 230, and International 420 (Men and Women) categories, set sail around 10.55am.
The second group, participating in ICLA 4, ICLA 7, and ICLA 6 (Men and Women) categories, left Marina Bay around 11.05am. The final group, the Optimist category (Men and Women), departed at 11.13am.
A total of 14 gold medals are up for grabs in the sailing event at this Sukma. The finals for all 14 categories are scheduled for Saturday morning.
