KUCHING, July 21: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Stakan branch chairman Dato Sim Kiang Chiok hopes Sarawakian talent will continue to be nurtured and retained in region.

Sim in a press statement today said although Sarawak is blessed with vast land mass, shortage of human capital is an issue due to the limited population.

“We might need to consider allowing more foreign workers into our economy to achieve our goals,” he opined.

Meanwhile, Sim said the decrease in the nation’s currency value has resulted to increased cost of living.

According to him, the situation is not only impacting business, but also the people’s earnings.

“However, with political stability and a strong State government, I am optimistic that by 2030, Sarawak will be a region where everyone enjoys economic prosperity, social inclusivity, and a sustainable environment,” he added. — DayakDaily
