Police have confirmed that the sole suspect arrested in connection with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah is a policeman
According to Perak police chief Datuk Azizi Mat Aris, the suspect is a lance corporal attached to the Slim River police station, where he has been serving for five years, reported the New Straits Times.
The suspect, who has not yet been named, was remanded today, 16, July, for seven days to assist the police investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The 26-year-old is Farah's boyfriend.
Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said Farah's body had begun to decompose when it was discovered at an oil palm plantation in Hulu Selangor at around 6pm yesterday, 15 July
The 25-year-old Sarawakian had been missing since Wednesday, 10 July.
Farah, employed part-time at a car rental company, was last seen delivering a rental car to a customer in Tanjong Malim at around 8am on the day of her disappearance.
"Based on initial investigations, the scene where the body was found is believed to be the primary crime scene," Hussein was quoted as saying.
