Taiyo Yuden plans to expand the plant in Sama Jaya

KUCHING, Sept. 18: Taiyo Yuden (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd plans to expand its multi-layer ceramic chip capacitor production plant in the Equal Pay Free Industrial Zone, with the project targeted for completion by October 2028.

According to a statement by the Ministry of International Trade and Investment (MINTRED), the recommendation was made during the company's honour visit to Deputy Prime Minister Sarawak, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan here yesterday.

The honorary visit was chaired by the President of Japan Kuching Club, Sakai Kazue, along with Taiyo Yuden Sarawak Director, Shinozaki Yoshihiko.

According to the media statement, the expansion is expected to create high-quality employment opportunities, strengthen human capital development and stimulate regional economic growth.

The investment also reflects Taiyo Yuden's confidence in Sarawak as a competitive and attractive investment destination.

Awang Tengah also appreciated Taiyo Yuden's continued commitment to Sarawak since 1994 when the company began commercial production of core rollers, multilayer ceramic chip capacitors and multilayer ceramic chip capacitor elements.

He reaffirmed the support of the Government of Sarawak to the continued expansion of the company and recognized its role in strengthening the state's industrial ecosystem.
