BINTULU (Sept 22): The search and rescue (SAR) operation to locate six-year-old Cicilia Julan Intik, who was snatched by a crocodile in Tatau River on Sept 18, entered its fifth day with no new leads.
Tatau fire station chief Jankey Jinkat said the search would continue tomorrow.
“Today’s operation covered an estimated 7km radius of the Tatau River from the location the victim was reportedly attacked.
“The search team combed the area along the old Tatau town riverbank, moving upstream and returning to the base in the morning,” he said.
He said in the afternoon, the search extended 9km downstream of the Tatau River, up to Kem Pasir Lubuk Pas Tatau.
According to Jankey, the operation would be temporarily suspended on day seven if no positive leads are found and unless a new clue emerges.
