MIRI (May 24): A teenage boy suffered a harrowing experience yesterday evening while playing on the gate of his house.
The child somehow managed to get his right arm impaled on one of the gate’s spikes, leaving him in great pain and unable to move.
His family members quickly called the Malaysian Emergency Response Services number 999 for help at 6.38pm.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) immediately deployed a team from the Lutong fire station to the house at Jalan Riverine in Lutong.
“Arriving at the scene of the incident, the team found a 13-year-old boy with his arm impaled on the iron gate,” Bomba said in a statement.
The three-member team then proceeded to cut the gate with a circular saw to release the victim.
His family members then rushed the bleeding teenager to Miri Hospital for immediate treatment.
