KAPIT, Sept. 16: The Department of Road Transport (JPJ) Kapit detained a bullet truck after detecting some errors during an inspection on Kapit-Mujong Road yesterday.

The action was carried out through the Commercial Vehicle Strike and Foreign Citizen Drivers' Ops (PEWA) which are ongoing in the area.

According to a statement by JPJ Sarawak, the lorry was detained for inspection after being detected during patrol and monitoring before several offenses were identified.

"Most of the errors detected included dangerous loading, thinning tire blooms and some other technical errors.

"In the same operation, JPJ Kapit also detained a vehicle driven by foreigners without a valid driver's license", according to the statement.

All offences detected have been taken according to the provisions of the law in force.

JPJ Sarawak reminds commercial vehicle owners and operators to ensure that vehicles are in good condition and safe before use on the road.

Enforcement and monitoring will continue to be implemented to improve the level of law enforcement as well as ensure the safety of all road users.
