The public is being asked to assist in the investigation of a fatal accident on Matang Road.

KUCHING, Sept. 21: Public with information about the death of a motorcycle and lorry at Batu 5, Matang Road here, were asked to appear this morning to assist in the investigation.

Padawan District Police Chief, Superintendent Barry William said the incident occurred at about 8.20am when the victim, an 18-year-old woman, was believed to be on her way to work.

According to him, the victim on his motorcycle was suspected of getting out of control before he crashed under a truck in the left lane.

"The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident", he said in a statement today.

In this regard, the public with information regarding the incident is requested to contact the Investigative Officer of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, Provincial Police Office (IPD) Padawan, Inspector Muhammad Azim on 011-36172665.

The information is critical to help the police conduct further investigations into the incident.
