BAU, Sept 16: Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) allocates RM1 million to implement five new construction projects and upgrade village guests in Mas Ghivangi Parliament area.
The minister, Steven Sim Chee Keong, said the allocation was aimed at expanding business opportunities and boosting community economic activity especially in rural areas.
"For the period 2024 to 2026, KUSKOP plans and develops nearly 200 rural guest projects in Sabah and Sarawak with allocations exceeding RM40 million including 61 projects in Sarawak which have been implemented with allocations over RM13 million.
"Today, KUSKOP also announced the allocation of RM1 million for development to be implemented by UDA Holdings Berhad in cooperation with local authorities (PBT), departments and agencies of Government of Sarawak as well as Parliamentary Members' Offices of Mas Gading", he said at a press conference after the Official Visit to Village Tapak at Mas Gading Parliament here on Wednesday.
According to him, the five projects were identified based on local needs involving construction of new Tembawang Sauh Guest Market and Grogo Village Sale Fair as well as upgrades to Jagoi Farmers Market, Duyoh and Stenggang.
For this year, KUSKOP is implementing 22 village guest projects in Sarawak, including one project under the First Modification Plan (RP1) 2026, 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK-13).
The implementation of the project is being managed by UDA Holdings Berhad in collaboration with Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED), Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak (MPHLG) and PBT to ensure development meets local needs.
