The school in Monkey Hole will operate as usual tomorrow.

KUCHING, Sept. 16: All primary and secondary schools under the supervision of the District Education Office (PPD) Lubok Antu will operate as usual from tomorrow, September 17, 2026.

The State Education Department (JPN) of Sarawak in a statement today announced that the decision was made based on reading of Air Pollution Index (IPU) through the Official Portal of Environment Department (APIMS) up to 7am this morning.

"The decision also takes into account the latest report issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department.

"However, parents or guardians are allowed not to send their children to school if they fear that the conditions of poor health will still affect their health", according to the statement.

JPN Sarawak explained that parents or guardians should notify the absence of children to the school.

According to the statement, aspects of student welfare, health, safety and well-being have always been a priority, especially in the face of hot weather or extreme weather conditions.

Any changes or updates regarding the school's operations will be notified from time to time.
