Thunderstorm warning, heavy rain in eight states, Labuan until noon today

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18: Meteorological Department of Malaysia (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning, heavy rains and high winds across Perlis, Penang, Melaka and Labuan as well as some areas in Kedah, Perak, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak until 12 noon today.

MetMalaysia in a statement said the affected areas in Kedah are Bandar Baharu, Kulim, Pendang, Pokok Sena, Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Kuala Muda, Yan and Baling.

In Perak, the areas involved are Hulu Perak, Kerian, Selama, Solut Matang, Manjung, Bagan Datuk, Lower Perak, Central Perak and Kuala Kangsar, while in Johor involve Muar, Tangkak and Batu Pahat.

In Sabah, the same warnings apply to the Sabah Interior (Turtle Island, Beaufort, Mbakut and Sipitang), the West Coast (Papar, Kota Belud, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Penampang), while in Sarawak they apply to Miri areas (Marudi, Beluru, Miri and Subis). - TVS
