Toto 4D Jackpot 1 totalling RM26.66 mln split among four winners including one each from Sabah, Sarawak

KUCHING (Aug 9): The RM26.66 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 last month was spilt among four winners from Pahang, Sarawak, Sabah, and Selangor.

A medical practitioner from Pahang won the RM23.3 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on July 24 July by betting on his wife’s car registration number and a set of random 4D numbers.

The 77-year-old winner told STM Lottery Sdn Bhd that he wanted to buy a System 7 ticket but he only got six sets of 4D numbers, which included his wife’s car registration number, so he decided to come up with another set of numbers, which was identical to the car registration number.

“I chose the pair of winning numbers which looked like each other and sounded lucky – 9938 and 8388. When the numbers looked and sounded lucky, they actually brought you fortune,” he said in a statement issued by STM Lottery.

The winner was generous enough to gift the winnings to his children.

“I’m old and I do not need so much money, so I give the money to my children so they can use it wisely to expand their businesses and live comfortably,” the winner said, adding he actually enjoyed the betting process more and winning was just a bonus.

The winner’s System 7 ticket won him a whopping RM23,348,049.75 and another RM1,680 as System Play bonus.

The remaining winnings of RM406,052.95 from the same 4D Jackpot 1 was won by a lucky winner from Sarawak via i-System bet.

The other two lucky winners shared the RM2.9 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on July 27.

The winner from Sabah, who bought a System 7 ticket and won the bigger portion of the jackpot amounting to RM2,858,151.75 and a System Play bonus of RM1,680, said she got the pair of winning numbers – 8480 and 6088 – from car registration numbers.

The 37-year-old construction manager said she bet on the pair of numbers as she has seen them many times.

“The numbers were hinting me that I should not miss the opportunity to win big,” she said.

The balance of the jackpot totalling RM43,635.90 was won by an i-System winner from Selangor.
