Two 4WD passengers injured in single-vehicle accident in Bau

KUCHING (Sept 17): Two passengers in a four-wheel drive (4WD) were injured after it collided with a road divider at Kampung Newang, Jalan Bau-Lundu in Bau on Tuesday.

A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said a call on the incident was received at 1.26pm.

“The incident involved a single vehicle which rammed into a road divider while heading to Lundu. The driver was unhurt while the two passengers sustained injuries,” he said in a statement.

The rescue team managed to extricate both injured victims from the vehicle using a stretcher and the Emergency Medical Response Service unit quickly provided first-aid treatment to them.

They were later brought to Bau Hospital for further treatment, and the operation ended at 2.13pm.
