KUCHING (Aug 28): Two men were arrested for suspected drug abuse in Sri Aman yesterday.
District police chief DSP Mathew Manggie, in a statement, said that the two suspects, both in their 30s, were detained for inspection at around 9.45am after being found behaving suspiciously.
“Urine tests conducted on the suspects came back positive for drugs,” he said, adding that the suspects are currently being held at the Sri Aman Police Station lockup for further investigation.
He said the case is being conducted under Section 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Meanwhile, Mathew urged the public to report any information regarding drug activities to the nearest police station.
He assured that the identity of informants will remain confidential.
