MIRI: Two local men sustained minor injuries after their ice-laden lorry skidded and was involved in a roadside crash along Jalan Pan Borneo this morning.
Firefighters from Miri central station were dispatched to the scene, about 56km away, after receiving a distress call at 6.19 am.
Upon arrival, they found that the driver and his passenger, aged 25 and 31, had managed to exit the vehicle on their own.
Both received on-site treatment from the emergency medical rescue service (EMRS) team before being taken to the hospital for further medical attention.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 7.11 am.
In Betong, a local man in his 40s, managed to escape a pick-up truck crash without sustaining any injuries.
The accident happened around 5.35 am when the pick-up truck skidded and crashed along Jalan Simpang Tanjung Assam.
Firefighters from Betong station rushed to the scene and discovered that the driver was unharmed as he had exited the vehicle on his own.
