KOTA SAMARAHAN: The establishment of the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Global Ambassador or UGLAM programme is one of the crucial steps to increasing the global visibility of UiTM Sarawak Branch.

Deputy Rector (Academic Affairs and International) Professor Dr Mohammad Isa Mohamadin said through various international activities and cultural exchanges, students of UiTM Sarawak Branch will gain valuable experiences to prepare them to become globally-minded individuals.

“This initiative aims to encourage UiTM Sarawak Branch students’ participation in cross-cultural activities, as well as to build international networks that can positively impact the individuals involved and UiTM as a whole.

“This experience will not only enrich their academic and personal lives but also contribute to the reputation and position of UiTM Sarawak Branch on the international stage,” he said.

He said this during the presentation of the UiTM Global Ambassador (UGLAM) appointment at UiTM Samarahan Campus here on Wednesday (July 10).

“UGLAM provides a platform for our students with opportunities and space to interact with various cultures, broaden their perspectives, and develop their skills to build important networks in the global community.

“This programme can prepare them to become future leaders capable of navigating and contributing to an increasingly diverse and complex world,” he added.

He urged the new ambassador to carry the trust and responsibilities given towards them with full enthusiasm and dedication.

“You were chosen for the exceptional qualities and potential within you.

“As you embark on this journey, my message is that you not only represent yourself but also our beloved university and country.

“I hope each of you can make the most of this experience and let it be a source of inspiration for achieving even greater success,” he said.

A total of 25 students from 10 academic branches across UiTM Sarawak Branch have been chosen to become part the UGLAM programme.
