Uma Bawang wins Bintulu-level Merdeka sculpture contest

BINTULU (Sept 25): The Uma Bawang Neighbourhood Watch Committee (KRT) has won the Bintulu divisional level KRT Merdeka sculpture competition.

Their piece featuring a majestic eagle soaring above a lush landscape symbolised freedom and unity.

KRT Kampung Baru Tatau came in second with a sculpture of a traditional Malaysian house surrounded by blooming hibiscus flowers.

In third place was KRT Kampung Penan Muslim Batu 10 with a sculpture depicting a soldier standing tall while holding up the Malaysian flag.

KRT Kampung Jabai and KRT Uma Baha Apau Koyan took fourth and fifth place respectively.

Consolation prizes were awarded to Uma Belor, Lebu’ Kulit, Uma Daro, RPR SPPS Sebiew, Uma Lesong, Kampung Baru Tengah, Uma Balui Ukap, Uma Ukit, Kejaman Lasah Long Segaham, and Uma Juman.
