Woman killed in a car accident by lorry on Stone Niah

MIRI, 15 Oct: A 24-year-old local woman died at the scene after her car was involved in a truck accident on Pan Borneo Road near WTK intersection, Batu Niah, early this morning.

Miri Regional Police Chief, ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the incident occurred at about 6:40 am as the victim was on his way from Bintulu to Miri.

According to a statement today, the vehicle driven by the victim is believed to have broken into the back of a truck moving in the same direction.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver, a 46-year-old foreign national, was uninjured.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
