PETALING JAYA:

Parti Wawasan Negara has appointed 14 coordinators for the states and federal territories as it strengthens its organisational structure for upcoming elections.

Wawasan secretary-general Saifuddin Abdullah said the appointments were made at the party’s first central committee meeting yesterday.

“These appointments reflect the party’s seriousness in building an organised and dynamic machinery that is fully prepared to face elections, while strengthening coordination with Perikatan Nasional,” the Indera Mahkota MP said in a statement.

Those appointed include state assembly deputy speaker Abdul Razak Khamis (Kedah), Kok Lanas assemblyman Farid Zawawi (Kelantan), Sungai Manik assemblyman Zainol Fadzi Paharudin (Perak), former chief minister Rahim Thamby Chik (Melaka) and activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better known as Chegubard (Negeri Sembilan).

  • Perlis: Azahar Hassan
  • Kedah: Abdul Razak Khamis
  • Kelantan: Farid Zawawi
  • Terengganu: Abdul Aziz Ismail
  • Penang: Khaliq Mehtab Ishaq
  • Perak: Zainol Fadzi Paharudin
  • Pahang: Asmawi Harun
  • Selangor: Suhaimi Ghazali
  • Federal Territories: Afnan Shahruddin
  • Negeri Sembilan: Badrul Hisham Shaharin
  • Melaka: Rahim Thamby Chik
  • Johor: Zulkifli Bujang
  • Sarawak: Duke Janteng
  • Sabah: Arifin Tobias

Saifuddin also confirmed that the party will contest the Negeri Sembilan election on Aug 1.

“Negeri Sembilan needs a major wave of change, and Wawasan is determined to offer authoritative, principled leadership that has the people’s interests at heart through its participation in the state election,” he said.

Yesterday, Wawasan president Hamzah Zainudin said seat allocations for the party in the Negeri Sembilan polls would be finalised after discussions with the PN central leadership.
