Welfare Dept seeking mum of Samarahan toddler Nur Amira Batrisya

KUCHING (Sept 2): The Samarahan Welfare Department is looking for the biological mother of two-year-old Nur Amira Batrisya Abdullah.

The toddler is presently under the care of the department’s Child Protection Unit, said a statement issued by the Samarahan Information Department today.

The Samarahan Welfare Department identified Nur Amira’s biological mother as Siti Rohaya Abdullah (051107-13-1298).

Based on the department’s records, Siti Rohaya abandoned Nur Amira, who ended up under the guardianship of her old and frail grandmother.

The department said Siti Rohaya left home without informing her family members of her whereabouts.

It added that the case is being investigated under the Child Act 2001.

The department appealed to those with information about Siti Rohaya to immediately call Nurkhuzaimah Abdullah on 082-671191.
