MIRI, 20 September: The Senadin Style N75 SmartCut program created a history of its own by successfully setting the Malaysian Book of Records (MBOR) record with 1,370 participants.

Sarawak Transport Minister, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin said the achievement demonstrates Miri community's ability to bring together various stakeholders to achieve a large-scale initiative.

"This achievement is not of an individual, but the result of contributions from all parties involved, especially 40 partners who gave their time, energy and commitment to make this program a success", he said as he inaugurated Miri Special Needs Fest 2026 at Event Hall, PermyMall Miri, here today.

He, who is also a Member of the National Assembly (ADUN) Senadin said that this success also shows how community and private sector involvement can be combined in achieving initiatives that benefit society.

He said the 40 participating hairstylists not only donated expertise, but also offered free services to special needs communities.

"What's more meaningful is that this achievement isn't just about setting records. It shows that when we work together, we can produce something that benefits society", he added.

According to him, each party has its own role and ability to contribute to the community, regardless of organization size or background.

He hoped the achievements would be a catalyst for more community-based cooperation programmes in the future.

"I hope the spirit shown today will continue. This record can be an achievement, but more importantly is the spirit of cooperation and community service that was born from this program", he said.

The N75 Senadin Style SmartCut WOW program last July brought together 40 hairstylists to promote the initiative, with donations being distributed to special needs communities. - TVS
