Youth on way back home from work dies in single-vehicle crash on Jln Kuching-Serian

SERIAN (Oct 23): A motorcyclist perished in a single-vehicle accident at KM50 Jalan Kuching-Serian today while on his way back from work.

Serian police chief DSP Neil Beginda in a statement identified the deceased as Cornelius Alvin Elban, 20, from Kampung Rasau.

“The victim was travelling back from his workplace in Samajaya when he met with the accident at around 10am.

“Initial investigation indicated the motorcycle went out of control and crashed into the metal guardrail, causing the victim to be flung off his machine,” he said.

He said the victim suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
