KUALA LUMPUR: Some 111 issues were raised by the people of Sabah and Sarawak during the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s Kembara Kenali Borneo tour, says Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali (pic).
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) said 74 issues were brought to His Majesty's notice from Sabah and 37 from Sarawak.

“Fifty-five were categorised as complaints, 45 were appeals and 13 were messages of appreciation,” he said in a parliamentary written reply dated Wednesday (Nov 22).
Armizan said among the issues raised were water and electricity supply, healthcare, education, roads, native customary lands, welfare, as well as socioeconomic and safety matters that required attention from the Federal and respective state governments.

“These matters are being consolidated by the Sabah and Sarawak Affairs Division in the Prime Minister’s Department together with related stakeholders.
“We will continue to monitor them to ensure the necessary measures are taken,” Armizan added.

Vivian Wong Shir Yee (PH-Sandakan) had asked if a special committee would be set up to handle issues and complaints raised by Sabah folk during the recent tour.
From Sept 3 to 13 this year, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah embarked on an 11-day tour across Sabah and Sarawak.
