BAU, Sept 13: 150 vehicles and 160 individuals were examined in the Integrated Crime Prevention Op conducted by Bau Regional Police Headquarters (IPD) around Pekan Tondong, Redeems Singai, area of Singai and Bau/Kuching Road, last night.
Chief of the Odor District Police, Superintendent Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the operation involves a force of 23 members with a focus on patrol, vehicle inspection and crime prevention, especially cases of vehicle theft and road crime.
"In the same operation, four men also underwent a urine filter test and one of them was detained under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
"A total of 12 traffic suits were also issued for various offences detected during the operation", he said in a statement today.
According to him, among the identified traffic offences included exhaust modifications, malfunctioning brake lights, non-compliance with registration numbers, not wearing seat belts and driver's license related offenses.
He said patrols and surveillance were also carried out in Bau, Singai, Tondong and Musi areas as well as the Pan Borneo Bau/Kuching route to ensure public safety and order.
"The operation went smoothly and under control without any adverse events", he said.
He said IPD Bau will continue to improve crime prevention and enforcement operations from time to time, as well as urging the public to provide information in case of detection of any suspicious activity.
