16yo boy feared drowned in Sg Tengah found dead

KUCHING, Feb 22: The 16-year-old boy who was feared to have drowned at Kampung Kolong Sungai Tengah, near SK Tan Sri Datuk Haji Mohamed here, was found dead on the third day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation today.

In a report by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the body of Fahrell Zaquan Hasbullah was found at approximately 11.20am by members of the public about 2.7km from the operations control post.

Family members identified the body, which was later handed over to the police for further action.

The victim has been missing since Feb 20 after reportedly falling into the river at about 4pm and being carried downstream by the fast-moving current.

He was said to have been playing by the river with a friend at the time of the incident. — DayakDaily
