KUCHING, Mar 21: The Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2026 open house hosted by Sarawak Head of State (TYT) Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, at Astana Negeri Sarawak today drew a record 23,000 visitors from diverse backgrounds.

Visitors began arriving as early as 8.30 am, well before the official 10 am start, filling the venue with a lively and festive atmosphere.

The large turnout highlighted the continued relevance of the open house as a platform to unite Sarawakians and foster a spirit of mutual respect and togetherness across the state’s multiethnic communities.

Earlier, Tun Wan Junaidi and his wife received visits from Sarawak leaders and other dignitaries.

Among those present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof; Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar; Sarawak and federal cabinet ministers, Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; deputy ministers, department heads and others. — DayakDaily
