SEDCE warns of fake PETROS Multifuel Station agents

KUCHING, Sept 19: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) new energy arm SEDC Energy (SEDCE) has cautioned the public, investors and prospective business partners against unauthorised parties claiming to represent the company in canvassing business opportunities related to the PETROS Multifuel Station (MFS).

SEDCE said it had received public tip-offs allegedly claiming to act on its behalf.

“SEDCE wishes to clarify that it has not appointed any third party, agent or intermediary to represent, solicit or conduct business on its behalf in relation to the PETROS MFS initiative,” it said in a statement today.

The company also said it had been made aware of a presentation deck being circulated or presented as an official SEDCE document.

“The presentation deck was not created, issued, approved, endorsed or authorised by SEDCE,” the statement added.

SEDCE urged members of the public, investors and prospective business partners not to provide personal, financial or commercial information to any party claiming to represent SEDCE in relation to the initiative.

According to them, all applications to participate in the PETROS MFS must be submitted directly to SEDCE through its official application channel, with no third-party appointment or intermediary required.

At the same time, SEDCE further urged anyone approached by an individual or organisation claiming to represent the company to verify the approach directly with SEDCE and report any suspected unauthorised activity to the nearest police station.

The company said it had also lodged a police report and is cooperating with the relevant authorities in their investigations. – TVS
