3 killed, 1 injured in two-vehicle crash on Pan Borneo Highway

KUCHING, July 4: Three men were killed while another was injured in an accident that occurred at the P-Turn of the Sarikei–Sibu stretch of the Pan Borneo Highway tonight.

In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 8.31pm, and firefighters from the Sarikei station were deployed.

It was noted that the accident involved two four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles—a single-cab pickup and a double-cab pickup.

The double-cab was carrying three occupants. One victim had been ejected from the vehicle, while the other two were trapped inside, and the other vehicle had only one occupant, the driver.

Rescuers extricated the two trapped victims using rescue tools, and all victims were handed over to the medical team to be examined.

It was confirmed that all three occupants of the double-cab had died at the scene, while the driver of the single-cab sustained only minor injuries. — DayakDaily
