KUCHING (April 8): A two-day Immigration Department operation targeting food premises and plantation workers’ settlements resulted in the arrest of 31 foreign nationals.

The department in a statement said the operation on Monday and Tuesday saw 23 officers carry out enforcement actions at several food outlets here and private oil palm plantation workers’ settlements in Sebuyau.

It said 21 foreign nationals were picked up in the city raids and 10 in Sebuyau—all for breaching immigration laws.

The detainees were all taken to the Immigration Depot for further investigation.

The department said it remains committed to enforcing immigration laws, and warned employers and individuals to always comply with the stipulated regulations.
