KUCHING, May 3: A 41-year-old woman was killed in an accident that occurred at the Long Laput junction near Jalan Long Lama, Baram, today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 11.39am, and firefighters from the Marudi station were deployed.
It was noted that the accident involved a 10-tonne lorry and a Proton Persona vehicle.
The victim, identified as Lidia Ubong Ann, was the driver of the car and was trapped in the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.
There were two passengers in the car—a four-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman—who were injured and transported to the nearest hospital by ambulance before firefighters’ arrival.
Meanwhile, the lorry driver, a 46-year-old man, did not sustain any injuries. — DayakDaily
