KUCHING (April 3): Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Abang Johari Tun Openg held a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya on Thursday.
According to a post on the Premier’s official Facebook page, Sarawakku, the meeting took place after Abang Johari attended the 2026 Special Meeting of Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers, chaired by Anwar at the Perdana Putra Complex.
Sarawakku, or the Premier’s Office, however, did not disclose what transpired during the closed-door meeting between Abang Johari and Anwar.
Meanwhile, the meeting between Anwar and the Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers from all states was held to review developments in the global energy crisis following the conflict in West Asia.
Abang Johari was accompanied at this meeting by State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
In a Facebook statement, the Prime Minister said the federal government is undertaking comprehensive scenario planning to address various contingencies, including ensuring an uninterrupted national energy supply.
“In this framework, the government is mobilising detailed and comprehensive scenario planning to face various possibilities, including ensuring ensuring the continuity of the nation’s energy supply under any circumstances.
“The spirit of cooperation between the federal and state governments remains central, and I am confident Malaysia will remain resilient and capable of protecting its people under any circumstances,” noted Anwar in his Facebook posting.
