Abdul Karim heads to South Korea for sports development

SEOUL: A Sarawak delegation led by Minister of Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED), Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah is embarking in an official visit to South Korea for sports and youth development.

Abdul Karim said the visit focused on engaging with several sports and youth government agencies in the country.

The delegation is also set to visit world-renowned sports facilities such as the Seoul World Cup Stadium and the Gocheok Skydome.

“Syukur alhamdullilah. Our delegation has arrived safely in Seoul for an official visit to several sports and youth government agencies here.

“I am also pleased with the visit itinerary, which includes meetings with the Korea Institute of Sports Science (KISS), Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO), Seoul Start Hub, Seoul Sports Council, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government,” he said in a Facebook post.

He extended his thanks to MYSED for organising the visit and expressed gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to head the delegation.

Accompanying him are the two MYSED deputy ministers, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu and Datuk Dr. Ripin Lamat.

Other notable members of the delegation include Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) secretary general Sapiee Ahmad and MYSED permanent secretary Morshidi Fredrik.
