KUCHING (April 10): Travellers flying with state-owned airline AirBorneo can now enjoy a more seamless travel experience with the launch of its official mobile application.
Available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, the app is designed to streamline the travel journey with three key features: flight booking across AirBorneo’s network, mobile check-in with digital boarding passes, and access to a comprehensive record of past and upcoming trips.
Chief executive officer Megat Ardian Wira said the launch marks a major milestone in the airline’s digital transformation.
“This app is the first milestone in a long-term digital roadmap designed to redefine regional aviation,” he said in a statement following the launch yesterday.
“Our goal is to create a truly integrated network where guests can fly into our primary hubs and transit effortlessly to our rural air service routes, ensuring every corner of Borneo is accessible.”
He noted that as the airline expands its fleet and network, the platform will support more personalised and predictive travel experiences, positioning AirBorneo as a technologically advanced, guest-centric carrier.
AirBorneo currently serves 21 destinations across Sarawak and Sabah, including Rural Air Services (RAS) routes that connect remote communities where air travel remains essential.
The airline was established following the acquisition of MASwings Sdn Bhd on Dec 31, 2025, making AirBorneo Malaysia’s first state-owned airline.
Its main operational bases are in Kota Kinabalu and Miri, with a fleet comprising eight ATR 72-500 aircraft and six DHC-6-400 Twin Otter aircraft.
Passengers can use the AirBorneo app to book flights, check in on the go, and manage their travel history directly from their mobile devices.
