KUCHING (April 10): Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu has called on party members in Sarawak to intensify efforts to strengthen the party’s presence and role in the state.

He said Amanah must work consistently, deliver a clear message, and adopt an approach that stays close to the people.

“Amanah needs to stand out more in Sarawak with consistent work, a clear message and an approach that is to be close to the people.

“Our aspiration is to build a mature and integrity-based politics. Amanah must become the voice of hope for the rakyat, bringing forward policies that truly make a difference in their everyday lives,” he said in a Facebook post after a meet-and-greet session with Amanah Sarawak leaders and members here on Thursday.

Also present was Amanah secretary general Muhammad Faiz Fadzil.

Mohamad also stressed the need for the party to enhance its role in disseminating accurate information to the public while curbing the spread of false news.

On that note, he said the meet-and-greet session served as a platform to consolidate party strategies and reinforce Amanah’s direction in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Mohamad said the global energy crisis placed pressure on the cost of living and food supply.

“We must be wise in facing this situation. Party members should help ensure that only accurate information reaches the community and avoid actions such as panic buying that could disrupt supply and prices,” he said.
