Baby crocodile safely captured in Bintulu residential area

BINTULU (Jan 28): A baby crocodile was safely captured by the Kidurong Fire and Rescue Station at Rumah Sibak, Samalaju, Batu 26 along Jalan Bintulu–Miri today.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the operations centre received an emergency call at around 2.45pm reporting the presence of the reptile near a residential area.

A seven-member firefighting team was promptly dispatched and confirmed the sighting on arrival.

“The baby crocodile was safely secured using specialised equipment, including a snare rope to restrain its mouth, before being placed into a sack,” Bomba said.
