KUCHING (April 2): The Bas.My Kuching mobile application will soon be updated following the rollout of six new bus routes to Arang Road, Hui Sing Garden, Siburan, Samarahan, Stutong Baru/Kuching Sentral and Taman Sukma, effective April 1.
Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) Sarawak chairman Michael Kong said the update is crucial as many users rely on the application for route planning and real-time information.
“We will immediately liaise with the system provider to ensure that the application is updated without delay so users can access accurate and timely information,” he said in a statement.
He said the introduction of the six new routes marks a significant step in enhancing public transport connectivity in Kuching.
“This expansion has been warmly welcomed by the public, as more residents are now able to conveniently access reliable public transportation within their respective neighbourhoods,” he added.
To assess the effectiveness of the initiative, Kong personally took a ride on the Q15 Saujana–Stutong Baru/Kuching Sentral route, which serves key residential areas such as Foochow Road, Tabuan Jaya, Tabuan Laru, Tabuan Heights, and Stutong Baru.
He noted that while the expansion is a positive development, punctuality and reliability remain critical to the overall success of the Bas.My Kuching service.
“These are the key factors that will determine public confidence and long-term adoption of bus services,” he said.
Kong added that CVLB Sarawak will continue to closely monitor operators’ performance to ensure strict compliance with schedules and service standards.
