KUCHING (Aug 8): Bau Hospital has received two haemodialysis machines donated by Sarawak Energy Berhad (Sarawak Energy) and the Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of Sarawak (Sabati).
The machines were handed over by Sabati president Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, wife of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, during a handover ceremony at the hospital yesterday.
In a post on Facebook, the Sarawak Premier’s Office said the contribution aimed to replace outdated machines and meet the rising demand for dialysis services at the hospital.
Sarawak Energy and Sabati began their collaboration in June 2020, initially donating two haemodialysis machines each to Kapit and Lawas hospitals.
Since then, Sarawak Energy has supported medical facilities across Sarawak with various contributions, including electrocardiogram (ECG) machines, ambulances, and fundoscopy equipment.
Also present at the event were Transport Deputy Minister and Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep; Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang; Sabati honorary secretary Datin Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin; Sarawak Health Department director Dr Veronica Lugah; and Sarawak Energy senior vice president for corporate services Siti Aisah Adenan.
