BINTULU (Feb 24): The Bintulu fire station received a report at 3.35am on Tuesday regarding a fire involving electrical appliances at a commercial lot in a shopping mall here.
A fire engine was dispatched and reached the scene at 3.39am.
According to a fire station spokesman, the initial assessment revealed that the blaze had affected a switchbox and several electronic devices in an optical shop.
“Firefighters carried out a size-up and conducted safety monitoring at the premises.
“The fire had been fully extinguished by the building’s sprinkler system before our arrival,” he said.
The situation was fully under control by 4am and the operation concluded at 4.20am after firefighters ensured there was no risk of reignition.
No one was injured in the incident.
