BINTULU, Dec 20: The RM64.5 million Federal Joint Quarters Project in Bintulu under the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) has been successfully completed, marking another milestone in the Madani government’s efforts to strengthen public servants’ welfare.
Officiating the handing over ceremony of the project today, Minister of Public Works Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the project, executed by Special Project Team 2 (PPK2), JKR Malaysia, commenced on Oct 21, 2022 and reached completion on Sept 2, 2025.
Implemented under a Design and Build contract by Saratech Sdn Bhd, the development comprises 70 Class F units, 20 Class G units, M&E rooms, guardhouses, a sewerage treatment plant, playgrounds, reticulation system, parking facilities, and built-in furniture.

He also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister’s Department for its trust and cooperation, particularly in on-site supervision, which was instrumental in ensuring the project’s successful completion.
The experiences gained from this project, he added, would serve as a guideline for future school and government projects.
The Minister further urged JKR Malaysia to continue monitoring and working closely with the contractor to promptly address any defect complaints within the Defects Liability Period (DLP), in line with existing regulations. — DayakDaily
