KUCHING (March 12): The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) carried out a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative at Rumah Sri Kenangan on Tuesday to bring comfort and warmth to residents during the month of Ramadan.
BCCK said in a statement that it contributed essential bedsheets to enhance the comfort and well-being of the home’s elderly residents.
The centre’s culinary team also prepared bubur lambuk, a traditional Ramadan dish, for residents to break the fast.
BCCK chief operating officer Rayner Simon said the visit was not merely about material contributions but about human connections.
“Ramadan reminds us to pause and reflect on our blessings and, more importantly, to share them,” he said.
“Our visit to Rumah Sri Kenangan is a small gesture of appreciation and care for the elderly residents who have contributed so much to society throughout their lives. We hope that through this celebration, we can provide comfort, joy, and a sense of companionship.”
Executive chef Tawfeeq Seow said the preparation of bubur lambuk for the residents held special significance for his team.
He noted that during this season, food represents more than just nourishment as it carries a deeper meaning of sharing.
“Our team prepared for the bubur lambuk with sincerity and attention, hoping it would bring warmth and comfort to the residents,” Tawfeeq said.
BCCK remains committed to playing an active role in supporting and uplifting the community it calls home.
Since its debut in 2009, BCCK has grown into a key ambassador of Sarawak, hosting over 3,700 events and welcoming millions of visitors.
