KOTA KINABALU: An arbitration and mediation centre in Borneo is now Malaysia's most advanced centre for faster and more efficient dispute resolution.
The Borneo International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (Bicam) is now equipped with its brand-new hearing room with cutting-edge technology that makes it the most advanced in Malaysia.
This state-of-the-art facility developed in partnership with transcription company Scribe Synergy Sdn Bhd (SCRIBE) includes real-time voice-to-text, seamless video conferencing, multi-angle camera coverage, high-quality recording and interactive document handling.
Bicam also offers a fully virtual filing system, allowing parties to submit documents and evidence online from anywhere in the world, Bicam chairman Tan Sri David Wong said.
The retired chief judge of Sabah and Sarawak said that it would eliminate the need for physical paperwork and make resolving disputes even more convenient.
"Bicam is committed to providing the best possible dispute resolution experience. Our new hearing room and virtual filing system are just the latest examples of how we're using technology to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility for everyone involved," said Wong.
With its focus on innovation and convenience, he said Bicam is poised to become a leading centre for arbitration and mediation in Malaysia and the region.
He said that it would not only help businesses and individuals wanting to resolve disputes but also the entire Borneo region, which is attracting foreign investments and boosting economic growth.
