KUCHING, Jan 12: A delegation from Pahang will arrive in Sarawak next week to learn about renewable hydropower, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said the State’s utilisation of renewable hydropower for green hydrogen production through electrolysis has made Sarawak the regional leader in the green energy transition.
“Other states and countries are looking to us as a role model for their sustainable development efforts.
“Actually, next week we have a delegation from sister state Pahang; to learn renewable energy from Sarawak,” he said when delivering his keynote address at Majlis Amanat Perdana for Sarawak Civil Service held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here today.
Earlier today, DayakDaily has also reported that Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah will visit Sarawak from Jan 15 to 19.
According to a new report by TVS, the scheduled programmes during the visit include a briefing on the development of carbon capture and storage in Sarawak, along with a meeting with the Premier of Sarawak.
Amongst those present at Majlis Amanat Perdana for Sarawak Civil Service were Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; Federal Minister of Works Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi; Federal Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri; Sarawak Federal Secretary Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan; and Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki. – DayakDaily
