KUCHING, Apr 13: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has once again called on Sarawakians living outside the State to return to channel their expertise and experiences as catalysts for the development of their homeland.

In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) report, Abang Johari said that the success of Sarawakians living outside the State should not only be a source of pride but also translated into meaningful contributions towards development through their experience, expertise, and professional networks.

He said this in a speech text delivered by Minister for Utilities and Telecommunications, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi, at an Aidilfitri gathering at Simanggang on Sunday (Apr 12).

He also noted that the Sarawak government remains steadfast in driving development by focusing on the digital economy, renewable energy, and high-value sectors as pillars of future growth.

The Premier also stressed the importance of human capital development and that it remains a priority through expanded access to education and employment opportunities, aligning with the State’s aspiration to produce a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting industry needs.

“All these efforts are aimed at making Sarawak a developed, inclusive, and competitive State, while creating a conducive ecosystem for Sarawakians to return and contribute to the State’s development,” he said. — DayakDaily
