KOTA KINABALU: Four Sabah Deputy Ministers have had their portfolios shuffled while another dropped from the new Federal Cabinet line-up on Tuesday (Dec 12).
The deputy ministers who hold new posts are Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal (Science, Technology and Innovation), Datuk Mustapha Sakmud (Higher Education), Datuk Arthur Kurup (Agriculture and Food Security) and Datuk Chan Foong Hin (Plantation and Commodities).
Yusof, who is Lahad Datu MP, previously held the deputy higher education minister’s post, Mustapha - Sepanggar MP - was in the Human Resources Ministry and Pensiangan MP Arthur was former deputy science, technology and innovation minister.
Beaufort MP, Siti Aminah Aching, is no longer in the Cabinet. She was replaced by Chan-Kota Kinabalu MP - who was the deputy Agriculture and Food Security minister.
The Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also saw the Sabah and Sarawak Affairs Ministry under the PM's Department scrapped.
Datuk Armizan Ali, the Papar MP who was in charge of Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions, is now the new Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister.
