City hosts over 1K boys’ brigades from around the world

KUCHING: More than 1,000 members of the Boys’ Brigade from Malaysia and abroad gathered in Sarawak in conjunction with the 25th National Boys Brigade Festival which took place from September 16 to 21, with the mission of strengthening faith and fostering unity.

A team of 50 to 60 members of the Boys’ Brigade from across Malaysia rolled up their sleeves to paint 126 tables at Petanak Market a fresh coat of lacquer yesterday morning (September 20).

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng revealed the plan to further brighten the tables by painting the top of the table in rainbow colors.

“After completion, we will find a budget to paint the tables at Petanak in rainbow colors. So, every hawker stalls under MBKS will be colorful,” he said.

These inspiring young individuals are participants in the 25th National Boys’ Brigade Festival, currently being held in Kuching.

The event has attracted a magnitude of youngsters from Malaysia and several other countries, including Australia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Macau.
