BINTULU (Feb 23): The Chinese New Year celebration provided the opportunity for Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian to meet up with local leaders.
On Sunday, Dr Sim – also president of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) – together with his wife Datin Amar Enn Ong and fellow party members conducted visits to open-house events hosted by a number of local prominent members.
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the visitors went to the residence of Temenggong Dato Chai Shong Phian at Lucky Garden along Jalan Tanjung Batu here, where people from various ethnic backgrounds gathered to meet and interact with the state leader.
Dr Sim and his entourage then proceeded to visit Datuk Dr Wong Aik Loung at Jalan Persiaran Mempelam in Tanjung Batu, and later, Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Sheda) vice-president Noel Yek at Starhill, Jalan Tun Hussein Onn here.
The final stop was at the residence of Kong Chiong Ung, president of the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS), in Taman Tinggi 2.
Throughout the visits, Dr Sim conveyed his festive wishes and exchanged views with the local figures regarding the current developments in Bintulu.
