ASAJAYA: A new approach for the Rural Community Centres (PKD) has been adopted, involving the coordination of activities in selected areas.

Rural and Regional Development (KKWD) Deputy Minister Datuk Rubiah said this approach brings together all agencies involved by organising activities and exhibitions to enhance service information dissemination to the community.

“In the past, PKD had a permanent building with a regular schedule for government and private agencies to engage with the public. Now, it is more effective when implemented everywhere, indirectly becoming a more integrated method by reaching more rural residents,” she said during a press conference after officiating at the Mobile Rural Community Centre (PKD) programme at MPKS Tambirat Hawker Centre today (Dec 16).

At the same event, Rubiah, who’s also the Kota Samarahan MP, launched the MyPKD app, a new digital system for the PKD which saw over 9,000 logins within about an hour of its launch.

“Anyone who wants information about KKDW only needs to choose and click on the information regarding PKD and the services needed under KKDW,” she added.

She emphasised the goal of fostering collaboration between KKDW agencies to boost employment opportunities and uplift education, technical, and vocational training (TVET) among women and rural youth.
