MIRI (March 25): The Miri Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division contibuted food assistance and other items to the victims of last week’s fire at Kampung Pasir Lutong.

A team led by Insp G. Visvanathan Guna Cekeren delivered the aid to the 42 persons displaced by the fire, who are currently sheltering at the Malaysian Red Crescent Miri premises.

The contribution included pre-loved clothes, shoes, bags, bread, biscuits and beverages.

The initiative reflects the compassion and commitment of Miri police personnel in supporting the community during challenging times, despite their demanding daily responsibilities.

The team also took time to interact with the victims, especially children, in an effort to provide comfort and moral support during this difficult period.

The early-morning fire destroyed 10 houses, including one unoccupied unit. No injuries were reported among those affected.
