Council reschedules rubbish collection effective Jan 1

KUCHING: Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) will re-schedule the collection hours of rubbish at all four zones under its jurisdiction with effect from Jan 1, 2024.

SMC, in a statement, said they are committed to provide efficient and effective municipal solid wastes collection with full cooperation from its communities, businesses and various stakeholders.

For Zone 1, 2 and 3 respectively, SMC said the new collection hours will be from 7.30 pm onwards at urban residential areas and from 8.30 pm onwards at sub-urban residential areas.

Meanwhile, for Zone 4, the new collection hours for central business district area (CBD) will be twice daily from 1 pm and 10 pm onwards and once daily collection from 10 pm onwards.
